The Bullard Police Department has recently welcomed three new officers to the team. Public Information Officer Sergeant Judith Tuell recently sat down with Officers Tabitha Mejia, Cody Rowan, and Isaiah McNair to learn more about their journey into law enforcement. Their responses shed light on their motivations, memorable experiences, and future goals as they begin serving our community.

Each officer answered three questions:

1. Why did you pursue a career in law enforcement?

2. What has been your most memorable moment so far?

3. What are your goals in working in law enforcement?

Officer Tabitha Mejia shared that she has always had an interest in law enforcement and respected officers for their service to the community. In high school, she noticed negative perceptions of law enforcement and decided that she wanted to be part of making a difference. Her most memorable moment so far was being tazed and pepper sprayed in the academy. Officer Mejia aims to exceed the expectations of her training officers, set goals and then push past them in order to give the community the best version of herself. Notably, she graduated as valedictorian of her academy class.

Officer Cody Rowan explained that he chose law enforcement because of the variety and excitement it offers, including the opportunity to meet new people. He recalls police academy driving training as his standout moment. Officer Rowan aspires to one day become a K9 Officer and to make a good name for himself within the community.

Officer Isaiah McNair was inspired by his father, who worked as a TDCJ Guard for 35 years. Watching his father’s dedication motivated him to pursue a career in law enforcement. Officer McNair’s most memorable moment so far is graduating from the police academy. Officer McNair plans to serve in whatever way he can for the betterment of the department and the community.

The Bullard Police Department is proud to welcome Officers Mejia, Rowan, and McNair. Their commitment and achievement graduating from the police academy mark an exciting new chapter for our team. All three officers have now begun their field training and are active in the community. If you see them around, be sure to extend a warm welcome!
