Troup Chamber Hosts Business Expo and Honors 2025 Award Winners at Annual Banquet

TROUP, Texas — The Troup Chamber of Commerce hosted its 2025 Annual Business Expo and Awards Banquet Saturday night, spotlighting the spirit of community and business excellence that defines Troup. The evening began with a business expo featuring local vendors and organizations before transitioning into a formal dinner and awards ceremony.

The program, emceed by Walter Flora, Kevin Hearon, and Trampus Spencer, included an invocation led by Brother Preston Lindsey of Troup First Baptist Church and recognition of special guests, including city and school officials. Chamber Board members honored were President Melanie Brumit, Vice President Tammy Jones, Ben Phillips, Terry Williamson, Barbara Barton, Roxanne Nayfa, and Gene Cottle.  Executive Director Suzanne Loudamy was unfortunately unable to attend due to illness.

The highlight of the evening was a keynote address by Bob Mauldin, host of Expedition Texas and Main Street Reborn. Mauldin, an East Texas native, shared insights from his career in broadcasting and storytelling, inspiring attendees with tales of Texas history and perseverance.

Citizen of the Year: Roxanne Nayfa

Roxanne Nayfa, a 1991 graduate of Troup High School, was named Citizen of the Year. Nayfa has dedicated decades to the Troup community through leadership roles, including president of the Troup Athletic Booster Club, officer in the Troup Youth Association, and Director of International Service for the Troup Rotary Club. She currently serves as a Community Liaison and Chaplain Bereavement Coordinator throughout East Texas and remains active in the Troup Women’s Civic Organization and Gospel Barn ministry.

Business of the Year: Daily Grace Effect

The Daily Grace Effect, founded by DeeAnn Seawright, was recognized as Business of the Year. Born from personal tragedy and resilience, the shop at 107 W. Duval Street offers faith-based handmade goods, art, jewelry, and books, serving as a place of healing and inspiration for the Troup community.

Municipal Employee of the Year: Zach Farmer

Zach Farmer received the Municipal Employee of the Year award for his contributions to Troup’s Public Works Department. Since joining the city in 2023, Farmer has streamlined asset management practices, saving the city money and improving operational efficiency.

Police Officer of the Year: Officer Cody Stanley

Officer Cody Stanley was named Police Officer of the Year for his outstanding service with the Troup Police Department. Stanley, who graduated from the Tyler Police Department Academy as class lieutenant in 2024, has made numerous felony and DWI arrests while patrolling the city’s night shift.

Joe Layne Family Community Builder Award: Kristi Martin Realty

Kristi Martin Realty, founded in 2023 by seasoned broker Kristi Martin, received the Joe Layne Family Community Builder Award. The agency, based in Troup’s historic district, is dedicated to helping local families with buying, selling, and property management services through its sister company, Teal Arrow Property Management.

The evening also recognized outstanding educators from Troup ISD:

Middle School Teacher of the Year: Ricky Day

High School Teacher of the Year: Chef Shyran Jones

District and Elementary Teacher of the Year: Dusti Cover

Paraprofessional of the Year: Cindy Tidwell

In addition, the Chamber awarded scholarships to local students Bailey Gipson, Payton Wells, and Emory Cover, supporting the next generation of leaders.

The celebration closed with a live auction, bringing together community members in a shared commitment to support and grow Troup’s future.
