Beckham Knox Tourney and Scholarship

WHITEHOUSE –  The inaugural Beckham Knox Hughes Softball Showcase and Camp, set for this June 28-29, at the Whitehouse Baseball/Softball complex.

The event is in memory of Beckham and a scholarship will be awarded after an essay contest.
Beckham tragically died after a hit-and-run car struck both him and his pregnant mother, Casi Hughes.
Casi was life-flighted to Tyler, and then to Dallas for emergency medical care.
Shortly after her arrival in Dallas, Casi got the tragic news that Beckham had passed away.
“Beckham would have grown up to be as smart as his sister,” Casi said, “and he was as passionate about baseball like his brother.
“So in his honor, we are proud to offer a scholarship to a senior student-athlete, celebrating the future Beckham never had the chance to live.”
Applicants for the scholarship will have to write an essay to participate in the registration ongoing until June 13.
Requirements include: Must be a Class of 2025 Graduate; Planning to continue an athletic career in college; Your essay must include the name of the college you will attend; All must submit a one-page essay describing a personal experience that left a lasting impact.
The essay may be positive or negative, encouraged to share how you have overcome the adversity and how receiving the scholarship will support your journey.
The scholarship announcement will be on June 29, at noon, at the Whitehouse Complex.
“Due to the generosity of the Lady Patriots softball program, Red Stich Events, and many other supporters,” Casi said in closing, “we hope you can come celebrate Beckham’s life with us as we try to make his memorial even bigger and better every year.”
