The District 174A champion, Bullard Panthers, dominated the All District baseball team in 2025, in what was to be a rebuilding year for a first-year coach converting into another banner season in what has become ‘Baseballville East Texas.’
First-year head coach Chad Sherman and his staff of Josh Chewning and Andrew Gates won the Coach of the Year honors.
Kage Korenek shared Co-Most Valuable Player with Easton Wulf of Center.
Senior, team captain, Dylan Fowler was Co-defensive Player of the Year, along with Cutter Warren of Hudson. Rusk, junior transfer Ethan Foster, was voted District Pitcher of the Year.
Named to the first team are Pitcher, Jackson Holt, and a Wynne-Wynne for Daddy Dustin as junior, Tannon was named first team infielder, and the freshman, Tate, was named first team outfielder.
Representing the Panthers on the second team are Outfielder Atley Jones, Catcher Gage Alderman, and Infielder Ty Rigsby.
There were two named Honorable Mentions: Infielder Bryce Roberts and Outfielder Jonah Hunter.
“We had a great district season, going 10-0 in a very competitive district, began the writer-proclaimed Rookie of the Year, head coach Chad Sherman.
“All of our guys are deserving of their awards and achievements.
“This may be the most well-rounded team I have been around,” Sherman continued, and I believe every one of our players would tell you that the award they won was a direct result of being a part of a complete team.’
The Bullard JV placed 2nd this past season in district with a 16-4 (7-2) record, and the Freshman team posted a 13-2-1 ledger for the district crown.
The Panthers (27-9) finished losing in the regional semi-final to the reigning state champ, China Springs. The youthful graduate has only one starter and three seniors overall.
“We lose 3 seniors, and it isn’t always just about the numbers you lose but the experience, examples, and leadership,” Sherman added, “We will have a lot to replace as far as that goes, but we are returning a lot of young talent next season.”
