Year in and year out when it comes to high school baseball and softball playoffs, you can pretty much count on both Bullard teams are in the mix.

2025 is no different for either as both won their respective district titles.

Both teams were down to last game possibilities with softball in a one game, winner take all.

Softball had just completed another district championship undefeated (29-4; 10-0), and cruised through the first round of bi-district playoffs defeating Vidor in two games.

Unfortunately, up next was a game that usually would be played much deeper in the playoffs against their nemesis, the Liberty Lady Panthers.

After a 11-inning battle, Bullard came up short 3-2.

“As in usual fashion for our sport, it comes down to who makes the play or gets the timely hit,” Coach Julie Murry continued, “Unfortunately for us, it wasn’t us today. This loss will continue to fuel our passion for elevating our program and players and we will be back and ready again next year,” Murry concluded.

The Panther baseball team made it ten consecutive playoff berths, chalking up district title number three in the past 10 seasons.

The pesky Panthers came back from one game down to Vidor, winning twice at their home Panther Field, for the 4A-DI Bi-District title.

With the win, baseball moves on for a three-game, Area Round showdown with Huffman-Hargrave in Huntsville beginning Thursday.

First year head coach Chad Sherman said about the upcoming series, “They (Huffman-Hargrave) are an aggressive team at the plate that can really hit the ball.”

“We are just gonna have to jump out in front and get after it,” Sherman added.

Although each team lose valuable seniors, each teams lineups are loaded for 2026 with an abundance of underclassmen.
