Patrick Mahomes Inducted into Texas High School Football Hall of Fame

WACO, Texas – NFL superstar Patrick Mahomes, a Whitehouse High School graduate, was officially inducted into the Texas High School Football Hall of Fame this month, recognizing his exceptional athletic career and lasting impact on Texas high school football.

Mahomes, a 2014 graduate of Whitehouse High School, was a multi-sport athlete who made headlines across the state with his standout performances on the field. During his senior season, he threw for 4,619 yards and 50 touchdowns, rushed for 948 yards and 15 touchdowns, and also pitched a no-hitter with 16 strikeouts for the baseball team.

Following his high school career, Mahomes played quarterback at Texas Tech University before being selected 10th overall in the 2017 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs. He has since become a three-time Super Bowl champion and two-time NFL Most Valuable Player.

During the induction ceremony held in Waco, Mahomes reflected on his time in Whitehouse and the foundation it gave him, calling it the place “where it all began.”

To mark the occasion, Mahomes also launched a new initiative in partnership with Adidas called “Team Mahomes.” The program will provide 15 Texas high schools, including Whitehouse High School, with brand-new uniforms featuring his signature Gladiator logo.

Mahomes was inducted alongside other Texas football greats, including Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III and former NFL players Gary Keithley, Pat Thomas, and Brad Goebel, as well as longtime coach Curtis Barbay.

The Texas High School Football Hall of Fame, located in Waco, honors athletes, coaches and contributors who have left a lasting legacy in Texas high school football. Mahomes’ induction solidifies his place not only in NFL history but also in the rich tradition of Texas football.
