The Troup Municipal Library has opened voting in its first-ever photo contest, inviting residents and non-residents alike to participate in voting and entering. Categories are: Child, Adult, and, Senior. Voting will remain open through Thursday, May 30, with winners announced the following day on Friday, May 31.
The contest, which closed for entries earlier this month, required all photographs to be taken within the 75789 zip code, highlighting the people, landscapes, and scenes that represent the Troup area. Although photographers from outside the area were permitted to enter, each submission had to reflect a connection to the designated zip code.
Library officials report a strong response to the call for entries and note that voting is open to the general public, regardless of residence.
The contest marks the first of its kind for the library, which plans to make it an annual event. Community members can view the submitted photographs and vote for their favorites by visiting the Troup Municipal Library.
