Troup Women’s Civic Organization civic end of year dinner

TROUP, Texas – The Troup Women’s Civic Organization (TWCO) held its end-of-year dinner in May, 20 / 2025, a diner-themed event where influential women of Troup gathered and event organizers dressed to fit the theme.

During the event, the organization recognized Troup High School students Baylee Gibson and Emory Cover with scholarships. The TWCO also announced its participation in a new scholarship, The Wanda Blackwell Tucker Scholarship.

The release of this year’s TWCO Cookbook was also announced.

Barbara Barton, the organization’s president, announced she will be stepping down to spend more time with her family. Pam Barron introduced the incoming TWCO Officers for 2025-2026.

The evening concluded with Cindy Steele being named Woman of the Year.

The Troup Women’s Civic Organization (TWCO) is a dedicated volunteer group based in Troup, Texas, committed to enhancing community life through service, fellowship, and civic engagement. They convene monthly on the fourth Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Cameron-J. Jarvis Troup Municipal Library.
