Despite a summer rain shower, the spirit of patriotism and community shone brightly at Troup First Baptist Church’s annual Fourth of July celebration.
Families and friends gathered on the church grounds to enjoy a festive evening filled with classic summer fun and community fellowship. Children could be seen laughing and playing on the swing set and play structures, while teens and adults faced off in friendly games of four square and badminton.
Snow cones provided a refreshing treat as everyone waited for the highlight of the night—the fireworks show. As dusk fell and the first bursts of color lit up the sky, the rain began to fall over the crowd. But not even the weather could dampen the celebration. Standing together under the light drizzle to watch the fireworks in a display of unity and American pride.
The event was a wonderful reminder of the strength of community and the joy of shared traditions. From the cheerful games to the brilliant fireworks, the evening offered a beautiful tribute to Independence Day—proving that in Troup, the celebration goes on, rain or shine, and the community of Troup representing the town slogan: the good neighbor town.
