The annual Project Daffodil Bulb Sale in Tyler, TX, will be held from August 2 through Sept. 27.
The annual Project Daffodil Bulb Sale is an online environment project hosted by Keep Tyler Beautiful in Tyler, TX. Since 2006, Project Daffodil has inspired Tyler residents to add daffodils, and more recently regional wildflowers, to their neighborhoods.
This year, August 2 through Sept. 27, Project Daffodil will be selling Daffodil bulbs in 50 – count bags for 25 dollars and wildflowers seeds of 1 pound for 40 dollars or half a pound for 30 dollars. Bulbs and seeds can be both pre – ordered or donated online. Any donated bags will be planted around the City of Tyler by the Keep Tyler Beautiful volunteers and staff. After the sale ends, the purchased seeds and bulbs can then be picked up in October at the Rose Garden in Tyler, TX.
The intention and goal of this project is both for the beautification purposes and the environmental support. Daffodils are known to return each spring which offers long – term visual impact when planted. Wildflowers can be known to support local ecosystems making them environmentally beneficial. In addition to the environmental impact, all proceeds raised by the online events will go to fund Keep Tyler Beautiful, which promotes eco – friendly habits and public landscaping efforts.
Once obtained, residents can plant seeds and bulbs in yards, parks, and community spaces for either visual appeal or to support local ecology.
