ARP, Texas — On September 4 it was announced that the Arp City Council has adopted a budget and reduced the property tax rate for the 2025-26 fiscal year.
At its regular meeting Sept. 2, the council approved a tax rate of 0.527706 per $100 valuation, down from the current rate of 0.585309. The reduction amounts to a 9.84% decrease.
While the average homestead taxable value in Arp increased by 5.43% — from $138,997 to $146,548 — the average homeowner will still see relief. Taxes on the average homestead are expected to fall by 4.94%, cutting more than $40 from last year’s bill.
City officials said the new budget is balanced while also easing the tax burden on residents compared to 2024.
