Arp ISD calls $9.9 million bond election for November
ARP, Texas — The Arp ISD Board of Trustees has called a $9.9 million bond election for Nov. 4, 2025, seeking voter approval for projects aimed at improving safety, modernizing facilities and expanding student opportunities.
The bond proposal is split into two propositions:
- Proposition A ($4.95 million) would fund new classrooms at the junior high, safety and security upgrades across all campuses, renovations at elementary and high school buildings, and the purchase of new buses and security vehicles.
- Proposition B ($4.95 million) would fund the construction of a new multipurpose activity facility for district and community use.
District officials noted that the ballot is legally required to state the measure represents a “property tax increase,” but approval of the bond would not result in a tax rate hike for Arp ISD residents.
The district cited several reasons for the bond, including aging facilities that are more than four decades old, the need for modernized classrooms and labs, improved safety for extracurricular activities, and the long-term community and economic benefits of updated facilities. Arp ISD also pointed to past debt reduction efforts, such as early repayment of a 2002 bond and partial retirement of a 2015 bond, which saved the district more than $500,000 in interest.
