Staff Reports
BULLARD — Maybe bluebonnets weren’t in full bloom this weekend in Bullard, but laughter, music and the smell of barbecue filled the air on October 4, 2025 as residents gathered for the town’s annual Bluebonnet Festival, a community tradition that continues to grow year after year.
Hosted by the Bullard Area Chamber of Commerce, the event took place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Bullard High School parking lot and brought together families, local vendors and visitors from across East Texas.
Festivalgoers browsed rows of booths featuring handmade crafts, boutique items and homegrown products while children took part in games and other family-friendly activities. A lineup of musicians performed throughout the day, creating a lively atmosphere for attendees moving between food trucks, the car show and vendor tents.
Chamber officials said the festival has become a key event in Bullard’s annual calendar, celebrating both community spirit and local entrepreneurship. The event also serves as a reminder of the region’s connection to the Texas bluebonnet, a symbol of pride and resilience across the state.
The festival was free to attend, and parking was available near the high school. Crowds began arriving early to secure spots and enjoy the morning’s first performances.
Each year, the Bluebonnet Festival continues to attract more vendors and visitors, reinforcing its role as one of Bullard’s most anticipated community gatherings. Organizers plan to expand next year’s event with additional entertainment and family activities to meet the growing interest.
