ARP, Texas — The city water project is underway. The first 450 feet of pipe is about to go in the ground according to the City social media page. Originally the City of Arp announced that it was beginning work on the long-awaited water project on Sept. 9, which marked a major step toward improving the community’s infrastructure and ensuring safe, reliable water service for years to come.
The project, expected to take about one year to complete, will replace all asbestos water lines throughout the city with modern, safe materials. City officials said the upgrade will improve water quality, increase system reliability and reduce the risk of future service interruptions.
Construction began and will continue to take place in various areas of Arp, and residents may experience temporary street or lane closures as well as short-term water service interruptions during the project.
City officials have continue to update the progress on their social media page. The ETX Bell will continue to follow the story.
“This is an important investment in Arp’s future,” the city said in a statement. “We ask for residents’ patience and understanding as we move forward.”
