Downtown Bullard was bustling with vendors and visitors enjoying a sunny Saturday afternoon during the annual Spring Fling on April 26, 2025. Highlights included petting and meeting llamas from Loving Llamas, face painting, a visit from Piper the rescue dog with SRGDRR, and plenty of shopping opportunities. The event was hosted by Event by Coffee Around the Corner and Dee Riley.
BULLARD — What began as a simple idea to connect the community has blossomed into a beloved tradition with the return of the Bullard Spring Fling.
Dee Riley, the event’s organizer, said the inspiration for Spring Fling came after the success of the Bullard Fall Fling, first held in 2018. With no major local events at the time, Riley and her team decided to introduce a spring event the following year to offer small business vendors an affordable outlet to showcase their products and services.
“As time has gone on, we have grown considerably by word of mouth,” Riley said. “We now get vendors applying from Dallas to Shreveport.”
This year’s Spring Fling features a variety of attractions, including food trucks, dog adoption events, and the return of the popular kissing llamas. Riley said the team also has plans for new additions to the upcoming Fall Fling later this year.
The primary goal of the event is to provide families with a fun day out while supporting the local community. Proceeds from the Spring Fling benefit the Bullard Mission House and Save Rocky Great Dane Rescue and Rehab, two Bullard-based nonprofits.
“We encourage the community to get to know more about both of these nonprofits and see if there is a way to partner with them,” Riley said.
Vendors at this year’s event offer a wide range of products and services, and Riley noted that community engagement has been key to the event’s success. Feedback from visitors and vendors has been overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing appreciation for the family-friendly atmosphere and diverse offerings.
As the event continues to grow, Riley remains focused on creating a welcoming space for the community and small businesses alike. Guests can expect a vibrant lineup of vendors, lively entertainment, and opportunities to support local causes.
