Bullard Middle School Students Serve Community
Student Council and National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) members from Bullard Middle School recently participated in a meaningful community service project to spread kindness throughout East Texas. Students were invited to KVNE, a local Christian radio station, to help assemble Valentine’s gift bags for distribution to area hospitals, nursing homes, and children’s hospitals. Working alongside students from several local schools, Bullard Middle School representatives helped stuff Valentine’s bags with items designed to bring.

The facility’s Rehab to Home program specializes in short-term stays, typically lasting 10 to 14 days, for individuals who require physical, occupational, or speech therapy following surgery, illness, or injury. The ETX Common Thread is a crochet/knitting group created by Ijeoma “EJ” Unegbu. She began this group in September 2023 as a way to build women up. Today, the group has grown to about 125 members.
This is an East Texas group for anyone age 18 and above who knits or crochets. The goal is to meet monthly at a local coffee shop or any location conducive to a group of knitters and crocheters in the goal toward community.
