Student Council and National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) members from Bullard Middle School recently participated in a meaningful community service project to spread kindness throughout East Texas. Students were invited to KVNE, a local Christian radio station, to help assemble Valentine’s gift bags for distribution to area hospitals, nursing homes, and children’s hospitals.
Working alongside students from several local schools, Bullard Middle School representatives helped stuff Valentine’s bags with items designed to bring joy and encouragement to patients and residents. The collaborative effort emphasized service, compassion, and community involvement.
In addition to the Student Council and NJHS members, the Bullard Middle School Art Department played an important role in the project. Art students created handmade Valentine’s cards that were included in the gift bags. Their creative contributions added a personal touch to the outreach effort, ensuring recipients received heartfelt messages along with their gifts.
The experience provided students with an opportunity to see how small acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. By participating in hands-on service, students strengthened their understanding of empathy, teamwork, and civic responsibility. Many students expressed pride in knowing their efforts would brighten someone’s day during the Valentine’s season.
School leaders praised the students for representing Bullard Middle School with compassion and enthusiasm. The project also highlighted the school’s commitment to character development and community engagement, encouraging students to look beyond the classroom and contribute positively to those around them.
Bullard Middle School extended appreciation to KVNE for hosting the event and to all participating schools for coming together to support the initiative. Through projects like this, students continue to demonstrate that service and kindness remain at the heart of the Bullard community.
