The Arp Garden Club has installed a U.S. Flag Retirement Disposal Box at the Veterans Memorial at the Four-Way, providing residents with a respectful way to retire worn or damaged American flags.
Community members can place folded flags that are worn, torn, or tattered into the designated collection box. The Royal Rangers of Arp will regularly collect the flags and ensure they are retired through a proper and respectful flag retirement ceremony.
Garden Club members said the project is intended to serve both the community and local veterans by offering a dignified method for disposing of American flags that are no longer fit for display.
The Arp Garden Club encouraged residents to use the new disposal box and help honor the American flag with the respect and dignity it deserves.
