Arp High School graduate Cade Ward is looking to cap off an outstanding high school rodeo career with a trip to the national finals as he competes at the Texas High School Rodeo Association State Finals in Abilene.
Ward recently accepted a full scholarship to attend Trinity Valley Community College, where he will compete in team roping and calf roping while pursuing a degree in business management.
A four-year varsity starter for the Arp Tigers basketball team, Ward built an equally impressive résumé in the rodeo arena. Throughout his high school career, he earned team roping champion honors in his region as a sophomore and junior and was named reserve champion as a senior. He also qualified for the THSRA State Finals in calf roping during all three years of eligibility.
His success has earned numerous awards, including saddles, buckles, cash prizes, firearms, and appearances at national competitions. Ward also received multiple collegiate offers before choosing TVCC.
In addition to his collegiate plans, Ward hopes to continue expanding his rope horse business while competing at the next level.
As he concludes his high school career, Ward’s accomplishments have established him as one of the most successful rodeo competitors to come through Arp High School, with hopes of adding a national finals appearance to an already impressive list of achievements.
