Bullard Approves Water and Wastewater Rate Increase

In Bullard
July 18, 2026

The City of Bullard has announced a 15% increase in water and wastewater rates, effective June 2026, following a comprehensive review of the city’s utility system and operating costs.

According to a letter issued to utility customers on May 22, city officials examined all aspects of the water and wastewater system during 2024 to evaluate the costs associated with providing services. The review analyzed operational expenses on a per-connection basis and determined the revenue needed to maintain system reliability, build reserves for future needs, and support ongoing infrastructure investments.

Following the review and discussions, the Bullard City Council unanimously approved the rate increase. City leaders cited rising operating expenses and growing demand for utility services as key factors behind the decision.

Officials stated that the adjustment is intended to move the utility fund closer to being fully supported by utility revenues rather than relying on resident taxpayers. The increase will also help the city continue investing in dependable water and wastewater services for the community.

The new rates will first appear on utility bills issued during the July 2026 billing cycle.

The notice was signed by City Manager Pam Frederick and Mayor Shirley Coe.
